Search annotations
You can search for information in all five types of annotation:
- authorial — notes created by the writer of the original letter.
- textual — noting deletions and additions to the manuscript, tears and other marks;
- editorial — identifying people, places and events;
- language — highlighting and explaining unusual words or turns of phrase;
- remarks — extended editorial comments, often covering several letters;
The search pages for all five types of annotation follow the same layout. The following is given as an example:
